Cloud doesn't have a ton of acting experience-in fact, Euphoria is listed as his first on-screen role ever on his IMDB-but he sells the hell out of this sequence.īehind this big episode (and we'll get his backstory at some point, I'm sure), there's concern going forward for what will happen with Fez. He knows that Jules is important to Rue, and wants to keep an eye out for these two-so when Nate, now "vindicated" from his assault charge due to blackmailing Tyler, comes into his store, he lays down the law.įolks, I think we can end the competition after that one: "It's gonna be $5.75, playboy" has got to be the greatest thing anyone on screen has ever said immediately after threatening to kill a villain. He's already made up with Rue (after helping her stay away from opiates a few episodes earlier), and is looking out for her. "The Trials and Tribulations of Trying to Pee While Depressed" (a mouthful of a title for Euphoria's seventh episode), is the heaviest episode yet for Fez. That Fez is so pure of heart and intention while still being a drug dealer in the world of the show (it's said that he's a high school dropout) is an astute commentary on the systematic issues that tend to lead to dealing drugs as a ways to a living. He's a drug dealer, but that's clearly out of necessity rather than choice he cares about Rue, and when she returns fresh from rehab and announces her plans to not stay clean, he appropriately expresses concern. We are all team Fez.įez has been a solid presence all year-from the moment he was introduced in Euphoria's first episode, we knew what we were in for.

But episode seven cemented something that had been fermenting for the duration of the series thus far: Fez, the drug dealer with a heart of gold played by Angus Cloud, is the best character on the show. There's Jules, one of the best LGBT characters in recent memory, and Nate, a violent villain who gets more unlikable with each passing week. Obviously there's Zendaya's Rue, the unreliable narrator and central protagonist who holds the whole story together. There are a few characters on Euphoria that stand out among the fray.
